Koda is now a year old! Can you believe it? His birthday is in February so I'm a little late in posting this blog. But here's a post of highlights from our favorite times this year!
Koda is a mega floofball as you can see!
We recently had to change his vest to this brown one, and tbh I kept it as a backup incase the grey one didn't work out. This brown one is a size extra large and it fits him snug as a bug. That blue leash? That's a new leash too! It's easier to hold that that old Smoky Mountains one we had, plus a handle. I bought it from our local Petco.
Nowadays Koda and I visit a lot of the local parks! This picture is from the Sculpture Park where you can see Rapunzel's Tower! The Tower has a braid of hair by the mirror window. The park has a trail that links back and more often than not I'm playing my Pikmin Bloom App. Koda is my flower planting champion on that app xD
In the Pikmin Bloom App, I'm able to grow Pikmin by how much I walk. The app itself takes a count of steps made whilest also keeping a friendship tally on the pikmin. Once one reaches four hearts, they put on "decor" aka an accessory! But, some Pikmin - like Clover here - already comes with decor. There's giant seeds you can get which need up to 10,000 steps to "hatch" and they will be a random color and a random decor according to their type. Clover here is a grey pikmin from Meadow Manor Park, which happens to be....
Koda's favorite place to walk!
He loves to walk around here and I usually bring my backpack with a sketchpad. The park is very well taken care of so we sometimes walk by the scoccer field doing the Pikmin App planting flowers. I tend to plant red flower or lately I plant a lot of blue or white flowers. But I think Koda likes planting the sunflowers the most hehehe- when I hit that button on the app something in his eyes light up and he walks even faster XD
In Wisconsin there's this river that runs along called the "Plover River" and it's fanatastic! The ducks always hang out by this dock like section so I got a picture. These ducks come in clans almost. Heck, the geese that come by are even worse. They come by the hundreds whenever the seasons change, you'll see them hang out by the parks and by the road trying to cross. xD I always drive extra slow if I see one crossing the road (which happens quite a lot!) But what fascinates me is that Koda doesn't bark at the ducks.
He's very quiet around them and will be mindful of em. I'll tell him to be extra careful to whenever we walk by a flock of ducks, and he listens! He's perfectly trained to be quiet around the ducks as we walk by. Meanwhile, anytime we're at a park? He immediately wants to walk so fast I have to walk a little bit more fast to keep up. Sometimes when I'm in the mood to jog, he'll jog with me. One time, I was out with a bike with Dylan and we put his leash on the bike. I straddled on in the back while Dylan held on one side, and Koda helped glide the bike! It was such a lovely time! For those who don't know already, I'm a grown woman by all things considered but I actually don't know how to ride a bike ahaha! I've never owned one through out all my twenty plus years growing up. I just never got around to learning it really. But here in Wisconsin there's bikers everywhere! Sometimes, they stop by and say hi to Koda
"What a big panda bear!" One elder remarked. "What a beautiful dog!" Another would chip in, and you have no idea how many kids wanna pet him. But I always have to kindly tell them no, because truth be told if I let one kid pet him O.O Oh boi... they'd all want to pet him. Because, well, he's very fluffy ahaha they'd want to keep petting him and let's be honest here Koda's fur isn't easy to maintain. He sheds... a lot! The moment your hands get in there, you got that fluff on your clothes XD My dryer sheets are made for pet hair now okay? I'm doing your kids a favor by saying no.
But despite all that fur and all that fluff- he's a dog full of love! So despite the extra vaccumming and extra time spent maintaining this dog, he's worth it. Maybe one day I'll let kids pet him but :/ I don't feel 100% confindent yet to allow it.
His favorite dog toy is a blue bird that can be launched by the head, we play fetch on rainy days inside. I plan on taking him to dog parks after we get him fixed. But, according to his breed, he's not suppose to be fixed until a year or so. Now that this puppy is a year old, the boyfriend and I are looking into it. It'll be hard to not imagine puppies- trust me the idea is tempting. Butttttt, I'd rather not deal with the paperwork <<; Plus I don't want him to accidentally want a wife and then we have wayyyy too many dogs xD
Till then, lots of walks through the park ^w^ And plenty of flower planting through Pikmin Bloom hehehe. As always thank you for reading and until next we meet.
